Anthony Duclair and Max Domi are off to a hot start in the desert. Duclair, who was part of the deal that sent Keith Yandle to the Rangers, has six points in four games. He scored a hat trick recently against the Anaheim Ducks, a game in which Domi showed his playmaking ability too. Duclair has shown his speed and his ability to score already. He projects to be a top line scorer in the NHL. Domi has six points in four games too. He is a quick, shifty player and isn’t afraid to get involved in the physical parts of the game. He uses his quickness to create scoring chances. Domi also looks to be a future top line NHL player.
Duclair wasn’t a high pick in 2013, being drafted in the third round by the New York Rangers. He continued to develop though. After scoring 99 points for the QMJHL’s Quebec Remparts in the 2013-2014 season, Duclair made the Rangers out of training camp in 2014-2015. He played 18 games for the Rangers before being sent back to the Remparts. Later that season Duclair was traded, as part of a package, to the Coyotes for Keith Yandle. Now this season Duclair has broken out playing phenomenal hockey for the Yotes. Duclair is our 25th ranked forward prospect but if he continues to play like he has, there is no doubt that he will shoot up our rankings.
Domi was more highly touted going into the 2013 draft and was taking 12th Overall. Domi dominated for the OHL’s London Knights in the past two seasons scoring 93 in 2013 and 102 points 2014. This year Domi made the Coyotes out of camp and he hasn’t looked back. He’s playing with a lot of energy and buzz. Domi, like Duclair, projects to be a top line player for the Yotes. Domi is our 13th Ranked prospect and will be a big part of the Coyotes future.
If you own Duclair or Domi in Dynasty Leagues, I would not want to trade either of the two. Some of your league mates may be trying to acquire them because of their hot start but unless they are overpaying I wouldn’t move them. Domi and Duclair both have looked like legit top line guys and with 3rd Overall pick Dylan Strome in the pipeline it would be a mistake to trade Domi or Duclair now. A line of Duclair-Strome-Domi is going to be deadly in the future.
